You will be able to visit the many skiable areas of the valley during your stay, by changing each time scenery, orientation and landscape, while keeping an eye on Mont Blanc!
You have many choices for your daily ski destination:

Close to the downtown area is Brévent ski lift and its 25OOm high. Right in front of Aiguille du Midi, all the Aiguilles de Chamonix moutains range and the famous Mont Blanc summit!
A place for all skiing levels with a wonderful panoramic view.
Brévent area is linked by a cablecar to Flégère which is in a beautiful part of Aiguilles Rouges range above the village of Les Praz, with a magnificient view on the Drus summit and the Aiguille Verte.
You will be able to ski on and offpist on many red or black slopes and ski down in the forest until the departure of the cable car in Les Praz.

> For those of you who prefer steep slopes skiing, off pists and a more various playground for ski & snowboard, Grands Montets ski area is the perfect place for you !
With his cable car going up to the top at 3300m just under the Aiguille Verte with a wonderful offpist track, you'll be able to ski down on the Argentière glacier to join Lognan at 2000m or continue on the mythic Pierre à ric slope to reach Argentière village! A long way down of 2000m vertical. The most famous place in Chamonix to ski and have the best feelings!

> Situated at the end of the valley of Chamonix , Balme has a wonderful panoramic view on the entire valley and all Mont Blanc range as well as the Swiss mountains and stands just above the village of Le Tour.
It's a family place with easier slopes, more blue and red difficulty and will allow each and everyone to enjoy their ski day or even improve.
The area of Balme gives access to many offpist descents in big powder fields added to a very nice run in the forest for backcountry lovers! There is also a very big snowpark for freestyle addicts!

> At the entrance of Chamonix valley is les Houches with one of the best place for ski and snowboard with a lot of slopes from easiest to hardest.
Made for kids and families, well known for his mythical Kandahar, a black slope where there's the world cup ski race.
More than 20 slopes for all levels will assure you a long and pleasant day. It's a good place to learn ski or snowboard as well, try the many offpist runs all the way down in the forest until the village of les Houches.
It's also the best place to ski when the weather is bad. Almost no wind blowing, less clouds and a much better visibility thanks to the forest all around will offer you a better contrast and more pleasure to ski when the conditions are not perfect!

If you're not a ski or snowboard addict and you rather like other activities, the valley of Chamonix is big enough to make sure you'll have fun. You can do cross-country ski or snowshoes hiking, dogsled trek accross forests and snow covered fields, paragliding, speed riding or ski joëring, sledgind, etc... including the centre of Chamonix with all shops, the sport center with swimming pool, spa and ice rink or even the museums. You won't get bored in Chamonix!
